Trend Micro, a global leader in cybersecurity, has announced the release of Trend Micro Check. The multifunctional mobile app is designed to help users identify online scams and combat AI-based threats like deepfakes.
With the increasing use of sophisticated techniques in cybercrime, this AI-powered tool aims to provide users with real-time threat detection, thereby giving them greater control over their online security.
Trend Micro’s CEO, Eva Chen, emphasised the importance of the solution: “Scams are at the top of the list of online threats to consumers, and AI has made it easy for cybercriminals to scam innocent people. The app allows users to submit various forms of content—including messages, advertisements, and social media posts—to be analysed instantly. Once analysed, the algorithm determines if the content is part of a scam.

- Deepfake Scan: This feature detects AI-manipulated faces during live video calls, helping users identify deepfakes before they cause harm.
- SMS Filter: Automatically filters out scam or spam texts, preventing them from reaching the user’s inbox.
- Call Block: Blocks unwanted calls from telemarketers, scammers, and robocallers.
- Web Guard: Blocks suspicious websites and filters potentially harmful ads.
