Cyber security threats are becoming more sophisticated as cyber criminals are discovering new ways to carry out attacks using AI. Email threats are also on the rise and one company is finding ways to mitigate this challenge. Sublime Security, a platform that uses AI to protect against email threats has secured $60 million in Series B funding.

This latest investment brings their total funding to $93.8 million, marking a significant milestone in their journey to revolutionize email security. The investment round was led by IVP, with notable participation from newcomer Citi Ventures and continued support from existing investors Index Ventures, Decibel Partners, and Slow Ventures. This funding shows a growing recognition that email security needs a major upgrade in today’s AI-powered world.

In 2023 alone, Business Email Compromise (BEC) led to nearly $3 billion in reported losses, with even higher unreported figures. The rise of generative AI has made it easier than ever for scammers to create convincing, targeted email attacks at massive scale. Traditional email security solutions, with their one-size-fits-all approach, simply can’t keep up with these evolving threats.

Since their Series A funding earlier in 2023, Sublime has quadrupled their customer base. Major companies like Spotify, Reddit, Brex, Elastic, Benteler, and Cribl now rely on Sublime to protect their email systems. While other platforms operate as mysterious black boxes, Sublime offers clear visibility into threats and can adapt to new attack patterns within minutes or hours. This sets them apart from other platforms.

This new funding will help Sublime Security achieve their mission of making email safer for organizations worldwide. By leveraging AI and other advanced technology, they are not only tackling today’s email threats but preparing for tomorrow’s challenges.
