My recent article on “A united fight against Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) in the Era of Generative AI” discussed the serious issue of generative AI being misused to create illegal content involving the sexual abuse of children. It has made it easier to create explicit content thereby complicating the on-going battle against child abuse.
To help address this issue, Thorn and All Tech is Human, created and published a resource for a set of co-defined Safety by Design guidelines for generative AI in the context of child sexual abuse.
Several major tech companies are making collaborative efforts to create a safer digital environment for children. By implementing Safety by Design guidelines during the development of generative AI, tech companies can reduce the risks of these powerful technologies being misused to harm children.
