The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has launched the AI Cybersecurity Collaboration Playbook to guide public-private partners in disclosing AI incidents and vulnerabilities. The playbook was developed with federal partners like the FBI and NSA AI Security Center, and industry partners such as AWS, Nvidia, IBM, Microsoft, and OpenAI.
This document aims to enhance collective defense through shared information. CISA has emphasized the need for proactive information sharing to enable early detection of critical threats.
The new playbook also facilitates coordination between AI developers and private sector companies within the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC) and encourages voluntary reporting of cyber incidents to CISA.
Organizations are instructed to use CISA webpages to report cyber incidents and vulnerabilities in AI products and services. This ensures security researchers understand authorized tests and reporting methods, aiding in the timely notification of vulnerabilities in federal government systems.
